A family of transition-metal doped Ti-oxo clusters with diverse core structures have been successfully synthesized. Their photocurrent responses can be tuned by varying the heterometals, and the cobalt-doped cluster exhibits the highest H-2 evolution activity (32.5 mu mol g(-1) h(-1)) with good stability.
