The two-dimensional heteropolyoxoniobate compound exhibited good electrocatalytic properties towards the redox reactions of H2O2, NaNO2, dopamine hydrochloride, and ascorbic acid. In this mixed 2D layer, the ratio of four- and five-vanadium-capped Keggin heteropolyoxoniobates is 3:1.
One two-dimensional heteropolyoxoniobate compound H-9[Cu(H(4)dap)(2)(H2O)](8){K[Cu(H(3)dap)(2)](4)}(2)[VNb12O40(VO)(4)](3)[VNb12O40(VO)(4)(VO)]center dot 48H2O (1) (H(4)dap = 1,2-diaminopropane) was obtained by a hydrothermal method. In this mixed 2D layer, the ratio of four- and five-vanadium-capped Keggin heteropolyoxoniobates is 3 : 1. Compound 1 shows good electrocatalytic properties toward the redox of H2O2 and NaNO2, as well as dopamine hydrochloride (DA) and ascorbic acid (AA).
