A comprehensive review on the application of aerogels in CO2-adsorption: Materials and characterisation

Leila Keshavarz et al.

Summary: In recent years, greenhouse gases, especially CO2, have been released into the atmosphere in increasing quantities due to industrial emissions and combustion activities, contributing to surface temperature rise and global climate changes. Aerogels are considered promising adsorbents for CO2 capture because of their tunable surface chemistry and appropriate textural properties. Further research is needed on low-cost materials and production processes to explore the commercial feasibility of aerogels as CO2 capture adsorbents.

Transformation of CO2 into liquid fuels and synthetic natural gas using green hydrogen: A comparative analysis

Ruxing Gao et al.

Summary: The indirect P2L and P2L/P2G hybrid processes are considered suitable technologies for transforming CO2 into high-value hydrocarbons, showing competitiveness in both technical and economic aspects. However, compared to the direct processes, they are less efficient in terms of energy efficiency and net CO2 reduction.

How to achieve a low-carbon transition in the heavy industry? A nonlinear perspective

Bin Xu et al.

Summary: The heavy industry is the main source of CO2 emissions, and examining the influencing factors is essential for achieving a low-carbon transition. Research has shown that economic growth, urbanization, and energy efficiency have a nonlinear effect on CO2 emissions; additionally, energy consumption structure and export dependence also have a nonlinear impact on CO2 emissions.

A new yolk-shell hollow mesoporous nanocomposite, Fe3O4@SiO2@MCM41-IL/WO42-, as a catalyst in the synthesis of novel pyrazole coumarin compounds

Parisa Mofatehnia et al.

Summary: Hollow mesoporous silica yolk-shell nanocomposites with a magnetic core have been successfully synthesized and functionalized with an ionic liquid, as well as incorporated with WO42- nanoparticles to prepare pyrazole coumarin in high yield and short reaction times at 70 degrees C in EtOH/H2O. The composites demonstrate excellent resistance even after seven cycles of use.
