Exposure to passive smoking during adolescence is associated with an increased risk of developing multiple sclerosis

Ditte Bang Oturai et al.

Summary: Passive smoking during adolescence is associated with multiple sclerosis (MS). Female MS patients were more likely to have been exposed to passive smoking between the ages of 10-19, while male MS patients were more likely to have passive smoking exposure above the age of 19.

PM2.5 exposure as a risk factor for multiple sclerosis. An ecological study with a Bayesian mapping approach

Roberto Bergamaschi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the association between PM2.5 concentrations and the prevalence of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the province of Pavia, Italy. It found that living in areas with high PM2.5 concentrations was associated with higher MS risk, and Bayesian maps revealed significant clusters of high-risk areas for MS.
