Complete mapping of the thermoelectric properties of a single molecule

Pascal Gehring et al.

Summary: Theoretical studies suggest that mastering the thermocurrent through single molecules can lead to high-efficiency thermoelectric energy harvesters. This can be achieved by adjusting molecule length, optimizing tunnel coupling strength via chemical anchor groups, or creating localized states in the molecule backbone. However, empirical verification is still awaited due to experimental challenges.
