Cytotoxicity of fagaramide derivative and canthin-6-one from Zanthoxylum (Rutaceae) species against multidrug resistant leukemia cells

Leonidah Kerubo Omosa et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of alkamide compounds were isolated from plants of the Zanthoxylum genus. Compound 3 showed stronger cytotoxic activity against multi-drug resistant leukemia cells than the standard drug doxorubicin, indicating potential for further investigation in drug resistant human cells.
