Conductance-strain behavior in silver-nanowire composites: network properties of a tunable strain sensor

Tomke E. Glier et al.

Summary: The study focused on the strain-resistance relation of a silver-nanowire photopolymer composite during repetitive stretching, showing a gradual decrease in resistance and an increase in electrical sensitivity over the first five stretching cycles. Model analyses were conducted to explain the electrical behavior of the composites considering changes in local force distribution and tunnel resistance induced by strain.

Simultaneous realization of highly efficient electromagnetic interference shielding and human motion detection in carbon fiber felt decorated with silver nanowires and thermoplastic polyurethane

Zhengzheng Guo et al.

Summary: By utilizing the three-dimensional interconnected CFF network and the excellent conductivity of AgNWs, the fabricated TPU-coated AgNWs@CFF demonstrates remarkable electrical conductivity, highly efficient EMI shielding effectiveness, and exceptional SEA/SET ratio. Outstanding flexibility and EMI stability are observed in the TPU-coated AgNWs@CFF even after continuous cyclic deformations and long-term chemical damage, showing its great potential for applications in wearable electronic devices for humans.

Organoboron compounds constructed through the tautomerization of 1H-indole to 3H-indole for red OLEDs

Guoqi Xia et al.

Summary: The tautomerization of 1H-indole to 3H-indole by triphenylboron creates a pi-conjugated fused-ring skeleton that results in bright orange-red/red emission for the synthesized complexes. The rational molecular design leads to a red OLED with high external quantum efficiency and a color coordinate close to the red primary defined by the NSTC. The study demonstrates the potential of the 3H-indole group in OLED materials and the role of suppressing concentration quenching in achieving high efficiencies and good color coordinates in exciplex-hosted red fluorescent OLEDs.

An eco-friendly nitrate-free method for the synthesis of silver nanowires with reduced diameters

Wei Zhao et al.

Summary: This study presents a nitro-free strategy for the green production of silver nanowires, which not only avoids the introduction of pollutants and the generation of toxic gases, but also reduces the diameter of the final products. The optoelectronic performance of the as-prepared silver nanowire film is comparable to that of commercial products, showing great potential for commercial applications in the future.
