Large-Scale and Flexible Optical Synapses for Neuromorphic Computing and Integrated Visible Information Sensing Memory Processing

Ya-Xin Hou et al.

Summary: Optoelectronic synapses combining synaptic and optical-sensing functions have advantages in neuromorphic computing for visual information processing and learning. A novel optical synapse based on a pyrenyl graphdiyne/graphene/PbS quantum dot heterostructure shows linear and symmetric conductance updates with multiple states, allowing accurate pattern recognition. This optical synapse demonstrates strong fault tolerance and is suitable for wearable electronics applications.
