BiPO4-Derived 2D Nanosheets for Efficient Electrocatalytic Reduction of CO2 to Liquid Fuel

Yating Wang et al.

Summary: A 2D nanosheet-like electrocatalyst derived from bismuth phosphate (BiPO4) efficiently converts CO2 into liquid-phase formate with high Faradaic efficiency. The in situ generation of Bi-O active species on the catalyst surface and abundant insertion of oxygen atoms in the nanosheets contribute to the high activity for electrosynthesis of formate from CO2 and water.

Maximizing the Synergistic Effect of CoNi Catalyst on α-MoC for Robust Hydrogen Production

Yuzhen Ge et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis of highly dispersed CoNi bimetallic catalysts on alpha-MoC surface through the strong metal support interaction (SMSI) effect. The as-synthesized CoNi/alpha-MoC catalysts exhibited robust and synergistic performance for hydrogen production from hydrolysis of ammonia borane, with metal-normalized activity surpassing all previously reported noble metal-free catalysts and being four times higher than that of the commercial Pt/C catalyst.

Interpretation of the Raman spectra of bismuth oxide thin films presenting different crystallographic phases

Osmary Depablos-Rivera et al.

Summary: Bismuth oxide thin films were studied under different deposition conditions, leading to the identification of various crystallographic phases. An unknown broad band at 600 cm(-1) in the Raman spectra was found for all films, attributed to residual weakly bonded [BiOn] units at grain boundaries. Theoretical estimations and density functional approximation were used to support the experimental data, showing good agreement.
