Stark broadening of spectral lines for zirconium ions Zr IV-VI in hot white dwarf atmospheres

Summary: Stark widths for 31 spectral lines of zirconium ions Zr-IV, Zr v and Zr VI were calculated using a quantum mechanical method, with five other lines deduced from a linear fit. The motivation for this work was the recent identification of 25 previously undetected zirconium ion lines in the UV spectrum of a hot white dwarf. This study compares Stark broadening with Doppler broadening to determine their relative importance in DO white dwarf atmospheric conditions.

Stark broadening for Br VI and Kr V-VII lines in hot star atmospheres

Summary: This paper calculates the missing Stark broadening of Br VI and Kr V-VII lines in the ultraviolet spectrum of the hot white dwarf RE 0503-289 and finds that the Stark broadening mechanism is dominant compared to the Doppler mechanism in the considered DO white dwarf atmospheres. The study enriches the STARK-B database and provides important insights for interpreting observed spectra.

Electron impact excitation and broadening of Ar X and Ar XIII lines

Summary: In this study, quantum Stark broadening, radiative atomic data, and collisional parameters for Ar X and Ar XIII ions were calculated. Results showed good agreement with other theoretical and experimental data. The convergence of collision strengths with partial waves of the incident electron was also investigated.
