Optimization of Fe@Ag core-shell nanowires with improved impedance matching and microwave absorption properties

Ping-An Yang et al.

Summary: Fe@Ag core-shell nanowires with enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption were successfully synthesized, with different Ag shell thickness controlled by changing Fe to Ag molar ratio to improve impedance matching and attenuation constants. The Fe@Ag core-shell nanowires show promising high-efficiency microwave absorbing capabilities due to the complementary effect of the Fe-Ag interface polarization, impedance matching improvement, and small-scale effect caused by the one-dimensional structure.

Enhanced Electromagnetic Wave Absorption Properties of Ultrathin MnO2 Nanosheet-Decorated Spherical Flower-Shaped Carbonyl Iron Powder

Zhengwei Qu et al.

Summary: This study successfully prepared spherical flower-shaped composite carbonyl iron powder@MnO2 (CIP@MnO2) by a simple redox reaction. The CIP@MnO2 composites exhibit excellent microwave absorption properties and oxidation resistance. The experimental results show that CIP@MnO2 composites have smaller reflection loss and wider effective absorption bandwidth compared with pure CIP. The composite with a filling ratio of 40% demonstrates the best performance.
