COP1 mediates light-dependent regulation of flavonol biosynthesis through HY5 in Arabidopsis

Chitra Bhatia et al.

Summary: Flavonols, a type of protective compounds, are regulated by light and other environmental factors. MYB12 has been identified as a key gene in Arabidopsis that regulates flavonol accumulation in response to light.

Ambient Ultraviolet B Signal Modulates Tea Flavor Characteristics via Shifting a Metabolic Flux in Flavonoid Biosynthesis

Ning Lin et al.

Summary: The study found that ambient UV-B regulates the metabolic flux in flavonoid biosynthesis in tea leaves, affecting tea quality. Absence of UV-B decreased some bitter- and astringent-tasting flavonol glycosides in tea leaves but increased non-galloylated catechins, while supplementary UV-B increased flavonols and decreased catechins.UV-B-induced tea flavonoid regulation is responsive to multiple biotic and abiotic environmental stresses, providing new insights into tea cultivation management and processing.
