Magneto-optical rotation of surface plasmon polaritons

Habibur Rahman et al.

Summary: This study investigates the magneto-optical rotation of surface plasmon polaritons at the interface of a metal and a four-level atomic system, finding that the external magnetic field plays a vital role in controlling the magneto-optical rotation. When the magnetic field or the probe field is tuned to resonance, the magneto-optical rotation stops completely.

High optical enhancement in Au/Ag alloys and porous Au using Surface-Enhanced Raman spectroscopy technique

C. Awada et al.

Summary: This study highlights the high optical enhancement observed in Ag/Au alloys and porous gold nanostructures using SERS. The formation of Ag/Au alloy particles and subsequent dealloying process leading to the formation of Au nanoporous particles were observed. The highly enhancement factor in porous gold nanostructures is attributed to the presence of dense strong hot spots and large specific area, showing promising potential for SERS applications.

Surface Plasmonic Sensors: Sensing Mechanism and Recent Applications

Qilin Duan et al.

Summary: The recent progress in surface plasmonic sensors, focusing on planar metastructures and optical-fiber waveguides, as well as the use of sensors based on LSPR, hyperbolic dispersion, Fano resonance, and 2D materials integration, was presented in this review. The integration of LSPR/SPR structures and 2D materials in optical-fiber sensors was also summarized, along with advances in quantum plasmonic sensing beyond the classical shot noise limit. Challenges and opportunities in this field were discussed.

Ultra-wideband and wide-angle perfect solar energy absorber based on Ti nanorings surface plasmon resonance

Fengqi Zhou et al.

Summary: The study introduces an ultra-wideband solar energy absorber composed of Ti ring and SiO2-Si3N4-Ti thin films, with absorption efficiency exceeding 90% and high absorptivity peaks. It maintains absorption efficiency above 90% at various polarization and incidence angles, showing great potential for wide-ranging applications.
