Neurological manifestations of coronavirus infections: role of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 in COVID-19

Negin Parsamanesh et al.

Summary: This study reviewed the neurological manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the potential role of ACE2 in the nervous system. The virus has significant effects on the nervous system and can cause serious neurological damage. Further research is needed to fully understand the neuroinvasive pathobiology of CoV infections.

Systematic review of low-dose isotretinoin for treatment of acne vulgaris: Focus on indication, dosage, regimen, efficacy, safety, satisfaction, and follow up, based on clinical studies

Afsaneh Sadeghzadeh-Bazargan et al.

Summary: Oral isotretinoin is the most effective treatment for moderate to severe acne, with low dose treatment showing comparable results to high dose treatment. Daily doses between 0.1 and 0.3 mg/kg are recommended for over 6 months due to fewer side effects and cost concerns, and can also be combined with other medications for greater effectiveness.

Systematic review of platelet-rich plasma in treating alopecia: Focusing on efficacy, safety, and therapeutic durability

Masoumeh Roohaninasab et al.

Summary: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and therapeutic durability of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating various forms of alopecia. The study found that PRP therapy resulted in improvement in 62.5% of patients, with an increase in hair growth and thickness. Simultaneous use of PRP and Minoxidil showed the highest rate of improvement and satisfaction, making PRP a safe and effective method for treating hair loss and alopecia.

The role of leukemia inhibitory factor in pathogenesis of pre-eclampsia: molecular and cell signaling approach

Mehrnaz Abdolalian et al.

Summary: Endothelial dysfunction is considered the main characteristic of Preeclampsia, with possible causes including inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, and hypertension. LIF can induce inflammatory responses and endothelial dysfunction via the JAK/STAT3 pathway, as well as contribute to vasoconstriction and hypertension by reducing nitric oxide synthesis. Identifying the link between LIF and pathways related to Preeclampsia pathogenesis may lead to effective treatments in the future.
