Phylogeny and Mycotoxin Profile of Pathogenic Fusarium Species Isolated from Sudden Decline Syndrome and Leaf Wilt Symptoms on Date Palms (Phoenix dactylifera) in Tunisia

Summary: A comprehensive study was conducted on Fusarium species affecting date palms in southern Tunisia, identifying Fusarium proliferatum as the main species detected. All Fusarium species were found to be pathogenic, with Fusarium proliferatum strains mainly producing fumonisins and other mycotoxins. This study highlights both phytopathological and food safety issues related to Fusarium species on date palms.
