Efficient CUF-based FEM analysis of thin-wall structures with Lagrange polynomial expansion

Xiangyang Xu et al.

Summary: This paper presents a refined finite element method based on the Carrera Unified Formula to analyze the free vibration of thin-walled beams with variable cross-section, length, and boundary. The one-dimensional CUF model is employed, and the geometry of the beams is discretized into one-dimensional elements along the axis, with the displacement field approximated using Lagrange polynomial expansion. Comparative studies show that the method is effective and capable for structural analysis of complex cross-section thin-walled beams.

Xiangyang Xu et al.

Summary: This study explores the applications of freeform surface approximation and multi-sensor systems in laser scanner-based deformation analysis. Through hypothesis testing for parameter setting selection and considering both instrumental and numerical uncertainties, a sampling strategy is proposed to avoid data gaps and achieve even distributed data points. The research aims to enhance high-accuracy surface modeling in deformation analysis using innovative approaches like validated B-spline approximation and multi-sensor system integration.

Deformation Behaviors and Mechanical Mechanisms of Double Primary Linings for Large-Span Tunnels in Squeezing Rock: A Case Study

Weiwei Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the large deformation control methods for large-span tunnels in squeezing rock, focusing on the Lianchengshan Tunnel of the Baoji-Hanzhong expressway in Shaanxi Province, China. Results showed that the double primary lining method was more effective in controlling deformation compared to the single primary lining method in chlorite schist formations. This research provides theoretical basis and practical reference for similar large-span tunnels in squeezing rock.
