The recent paper by Yan and Chen et al. on observing the cracking process and deformation behaviors at crack tip of Al using in situ TEM tensile experimental techniques has been criticized for questionable conclusions and inaccuracies in technical descriptions and data references.
Recently, Yan and Chen et al. [1] published a paper observing the cracking process and related deformation behaviors at crack tip of Al using in situ TEM tensile experimental techniques. In this comment we show that the interpretation of some TEM results may be debatable or even wrong, thus leading to questionable conclusions regarding the deformation mechanism at crack tip. Some inaccurate technical descriptions and inadequate statements in data references are also pointed out.
