Binary Zn-Ti alloys for orthopedic applications: Corrosion and degradation behaviors, friction and wear performance, and cytotoxicity

Kun Wang et al.

Summary: Zinc and titanium binary alloys were investigated for orthopedic implant applications, with the Zn-0.2Ti alloy showing the highest mechanical properties. The corrosion rates of Zn-xTi alloys increased with higher titanium content, while the hot-rolled Zn-xTi alloys exhibited lower wear losses.
