H5PW10V2O40.15H2O is a high-protonic conductor with excellent protonic conductivity, following the Vehicle mechanism, and shows increased conductivity at higher temperatures.
A typical high-protonic conductor, a kind of vanadium-substituted heteropoly acid, H5PW10V2O40.15H2O, is synthesized with characterization and its proton conductive behavior also has been investigated. At 18 degrees C with 80% relative humidity, the protonic conductivity of H5PW10V2O40.15H2O is 1.27 x 10-2 S.cm- 1, an excellent protonic conductor. The proton conduction's activation energy is 25.41 kJ.mol- 1, implying it following Vehicle mechanism. Higher temperature can accelerate the conductivity of H5PW10V2O40.15H2O during the measured range.
