Na4Ti5O12 powders prepared by solid-state reaction method exhibit excellent sensing properties in humidity sensing, including large impedance modulus change, perfect linear response, appropriate response/recovery time, small hysteresis value, and good stability. These performances are attributed to the active action of surface sodium ions, suggesting promising applications in the field of humidity sensing.
Na4Ti5O12 powders were prepared by solid-state reaction method. The sensor fabricated from the Na4Ti5O12 powders shows excellent sensing properties, such as a large impedance modulus change over four orders of magnitude, perfect linear response in the humidity range 11-75% relative humidity, appropriate response/recovery time (34/199 s), small hysteresis value of 4.15%, and good stability. The performances were argued to be due to the active action of surface sodium ions. These results indicate that Na4Ti5O12 powders have promising application in humidity sensing field
