In this study, a nanocomposite of vanadium pentoxide and polyaniline (V2O5/PANI) was successfully synthesized using laser ablation in water. The interlayer spacing of V2O5 shifted from 7.95 to 13.6 angstrom due to polyaniline intercalation, and the presence of H2O2 during ablation process altered the morphology of the samples. The polymer growth was oriented parallel to V2O5 lamellae in V2O5/PANI samples, while fibers were observed in V2O5(H2O2)/PANI.
In this work, nanocomposite formed by vanadium pentoxide and polyaniline (V2O5/PANI) was synthesized by laser ablation in water. The V2O5 materials shown interlayer spacing shift from 7.95 to 13.6 angstrom due to polyaniline intercalation indicating a substitution of water molecules for polyaniline chains. Also, it was observed altering morphology samples according to the presence of H2O2 during the ablation process. The polymer growth is oriented parallel to V2O5 lamellae in the V2O5/PANI samples while fibers was observed in V2O5(H2O2)/PANI. The Raman analysis showed vibrational modes of V2O5 and a characteristic shift in the signal that correspond to the interaction of two layers units VO4- in composite PANI/V2O5. Cyclic voltammetry measurements disclose a displacement of redox pairs of polyaniline as an indication that V2O5 and polyaniline are interacting tightly and exhibit most intense current peak. This behavior is also observed in the XRD and UV visible absorption measurements.
