Flow characterization of magnesium alloy ZK61 during hot deformation with improved constitutive equations and using activation energy maps

Jinchuan Long et al.

Summary: This study characterized the flow characteristics and workability of as-extruded magnesium alloy ZK61 through isothermal compression tests. Flow stress curves were analyzed, and both conventional and improved Arrhenius constitutive equations were developed to predict flow characteristics. Activation energy maps identified dominant deformation mechanisms and optimal processing conditions for the alloy.

Characterization of microstructures and hot-compressive behavior of GH4169 superalloy by kinetics analysis and simulation

Peihao Geng et al.

Summary: The study revealed that dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior was promoted at higher temperatures and lower strain rates, and no 8 phase existed at or above 1333 K deformation temperature. A significant yield drop occurred within the temperature range varying from 1273 K to 1333 K due to the dissolution of the 8 phase and enhanced mobility of defects.

Effect of Zn content on the dynamic softening of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys during hot compression deformation

Jie Tang et al.

Summary: Increasing Zn content in Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys accelerates work hardening rate but has a mixed effect on peak stress and hot deformation activation energy. Dynamic softening increases gradually with higher Zn content due to accelerated dynamic precipitation, while it decreases with low Zn content as dynamic recovery and recrystallization are hindered by Zn addition.

Effects of strain rates on dynamic deformation behavior of Cu-20Ag alloy

Kexing Song et al.

Summary: Copper alloy is widely used in high-speed railway, aerospace and other fields due to its excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical properties. Increase of strain rate can reduce the adiabatic shear sensitivity and promote the precipitation of Ag in Cu-20Ag alloy, which in turn improves the strength of the alloy.
