Persistent organic pollutants in plasma and stable isotopes in red blood cells of Caretta caretta, Chelonia mydas and Lepidochelys olivacea sea turtles that nest in Brazil

Luciana S. Filippos et al.

Summary: Studies on persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in sea turtles have reported spatial data gaps globally. Investigation on blood plasma of different sea turtle species in Brazil revealed varying levels of POP contamination, with loggerhead turtles having the highest concentrations. Stable isotopes analysis showed differences in trophic ecology among species.
