Metarhizium robertsii in combination with Trichoderma asperellum reduce the malathion doses used to control ambrosia beetles: the case of Xyleborus affinis

E. A. Reynoso-Lopez et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the efficacy of different fungal treatments against the invasive ambrosia beetle Xyleborus affinis Eichhoff and the pathogenic ambrosia fungus Fusarium euwallaceae. The results showed that a combination of Metarhizium robertsii and Trichoderma asperellum was as effective as malathion in controlling X. affinis, offering a potential alternative to reduce the use of chemical pesticides for ambrosia beetle control.
