The effect of salt and particle concentration on the dynamic self-assembly of detonation nanodiamonds in water

Samir A. El-Demrdash et al.

Summary: Detonation nanodiamonds (DNDs) self-assemble into fractal-like aggregates in water, with two particle aggregate populations observed. The presence of salt does not significantly affect the size or shape of the aggregates. As DND concentration increases, the aggregates become denser and change shape from disk-like to rod-like. This study contributes to the understanding of DNDs' colloidal properties and potential future applications.
