Induction of autophagy and suppression of type I IFN secretion by CSFV

Baoming Xie et al.

Summary: The study revealed that CSFV infection inhibits the phosphorylation of MTOR leading to autophagy initiation. The MAPK/ERK signaling pathway is involved in CSFV-induced autophagy. CSFV non-structural protein NS5A induced autophagy through the CAMKK2-PRKAA-MTOR signaling pathway.

Selective autophagy receptor SQSTM1/p62 inhibits Seneca Valley virus replication by targeting viral VP1 and VP3

Wei Wen et al.

Summary: The study explores the reciprocal regulation between the selective autophagy receptor SQSTM1 and Seneca Valley virus (SVV). Overexpression of SQSTM1 decreased viral protein production and reduced viral titers, while SVV evolved strategies to circumvent host autophagic machinery to promote viral replication. SVV's 3C(pro) targets SQSTM1 for cleavage to prevent selective autophagy and promote viral propagation.
