Enhancement of the optical properties of PVP using Zn1-xSnxS for UV-region optical applications

Summary: In this study, the optical properties of PVP polymer were enhanced by using ternary Zn1-xSnxS as filler for UV-region optical applications. The prepared polymeric composite films showed improved refractive index and optical conductivity compared to the plain PVP, making them suitable for UV-region optical applications. The interaction between Zn1-xSnxS material and PVP polymer was successful, resulting in a shift in the direct optical energy bandgap and cut off transmittance edge in the polymeric composite films.

Synthesis of Co/CoO@RGO composite for enhanced electromagnetic microwave absorption performance

Effect of Cu-doping on the structure, FT-IR and optical properties of Titania for environmental-friendly applications

Summary: The effect of Cu-doping on the structure, FT-IR and optical properties of Titania for environmentally-friendly applications was explored in this work. Cu-doped Titania thin films were synthesized and characterized. It was found that Cu-doping enhanced the visible light absorption of the material, with the optimal Cu doping concentration being 12%. The direct bandgap of the prepared thin films decreased as Cu doping increased up to 12%, but increased again at higher doping levels, showing that Cu-doping can tailor the optical properties of Titania for covering the visible light spectrum.

The structure and optical properties of PVA-BaTiO3 nanocomposite films

Summary: This study aimed to synthesize BaTiO3 nanocrystalline particles using the tartrate precursor process, and then prepare nanocomposite films with PVA. Analysis using XRD and FTIR showed complex interactions between BaTiO3 nanoparticles and the PVA matrix. As the concentration of BaTiO3 nanoparticles in the PVA matrix increased, the optical band gap decreased while the Urbach energy increased.

Optical and electrical properties of SnBr2-doped polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymeric solid electrolyte for electronic and optoelectronic applications

Summary: The polymer electrolyte of PVA doped with different weight ratios of SnBr2 was synthesized by casting technique. The XRD and FT-IR techniques showed the decrement in the crystallinity with the argument of SnBr2 concentration and functional interaction between SnBr2 and PVA, respectively. The influence of SnBr2 on the optical performance of PVA was researched through UV-vis spectrophotometer analysis, showing a notable change in the optical properties of the polymer electrolytes. The study also revealed a clear dependence of optical properties on the SnBr2 content, indicating potential applications in electronic and optoelectronic devices.

Optical absorption and linear/nonlinear parameters of polyvinyl alcohol films doped by fullerene

Summary: New polymeric films were developed for optoelectronic devices by interacting Fullerene (C60) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVALC) through the casting method. Various optical properties were studied, including bandgap reduction to 4.05 eV, increase in nonlinear susceptibility and refractive index, and improved optical limiting performance. The results suggest the potential of nanocomposite films for laser CUT-OFF and photonic applications, with C60 showing a significant effect on the PVALC matrix.

Synthesis, thermal and dielectric performance of PVA-SrTiO3 polymer nanocomposites
