Homogeneous liquid phase microextraction using hydrophilic media for the determination of fluoroquinolones in human urine using HPLC-FLD

Eleni Tsanaktsidou et al.

Summary: A homogeneous liquid phase microextraction method using salt as phase forming agent was developed for the determination of four fluoroquinolones in human urine. The method was systematically optimized and validated using multivariate experimental designs, achieving high accuracy and precision within acceptable tolerance limits. The proposed approach offers improved efficiency, reduced sample volume, and extraction time compared to existing methods for the bioanalysis of fluoroquinolones.

Novel materials as capillary coatings for in-tube solid-phase microextraction for bioanalysis

Caroline Fernandes Grecco et al.

Summary: In-tube solid-phase microextraction with a capillary column as extraction device can be directly coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography systems. This technique has been continuously developed since 1997 and has been applied to analyze a variety of biological samples for therapeutic drug monitoring, biomarker studies, illicit drug detection, metabolomics studies, and drug exposure assessment. New couplings and advanced stationary phases have been developed to enhance the performance of in-tube solid-phase microextraction.

Sugaring-out induced homogeneous liquid-liquid microextraction as an alternative mode for biological sample preparation: A comparative study

Inas A. Abdallah et al.

Summary: Miniaturization of liquid-liquid extraction is a growing trend in sample preparation, with sugaring-out induced liquid-liquid microextraction found to be the most efficient mode for antiviral drug sample preparation in human plasma. Method optimization led to a wide linear range and high correlation coefficients, confirming the efficiency of sugaring-out induced liquid-liquid microextraction.

A green homogeneous liquid-liquid microextraction method for spectrophotometric determination of daclatasvir in human plasma

Inas A. Abdallah et al.

Summary: The study developed a salting-out induced homogenous liquid-liquid microextraction method for preparation and pre-concentration of daclatasvir in human plasma, which was then measured by second derivative spectrophotometry. The method was found to be linear, accurate, precise, simple, rapid, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
