Efficient removal of azo dyes with nano-flower formation using nano-basic resins

R. Coskun et al.

Summary: Two new basic polymeric resins were prepared and characterized for their effectiveness in removing acidic dyes from aqueous solutions. The R2-Mod resin showed superior adsorption properties compared to R1-Mod, working in a wider range of pH and concentration levels. Additionally, both resins exhibited exothermic, spontaneous, and favorable adsorption at lower temperatures.

The surfactant-ionic liquid bi-functionalization of chitosan beads for their adsorption performance improvement toward Tartrazine

Sara Ranjbari et al.

Summary: In this study, bi-functionalized chitosan beads were successfully prepared and used for the efficient removal of anionic food dye from polluted water. The experimental data showed high adsorption efficiency, fitting well with the pseudo-first-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm model under optimal conditions. The conjugation of chitosan beads with surfactant and ionic liquid introduced a new type of adsorbents for wastewater treatment.

Adsorption efficiency of sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (sPEEK) as a novel low-cost polymeric adsorbent for cationic organic dyes removal from aqueous solution

Julide Hizal et al.

Summary: The study investigated the adsorption of methylene blue and basic violet 16 on sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) in aqueous solution, revealing that the process followed a pseudo-second order kinetic model with equilibrium reached in 40 and 20 minutes for MB and BVI6, respectively. The maximum adsorption capacities were found to be 98.04 mg/g and 181.8 mg/g, showing that temperature had a positive effect on MB adsorption. Furthermore, desorption and recycling experiments demonstrated the potential for sPEEK reusability for methylene blue removal.

Multifunctional amphoteric resin to remove both anionic and cationic dyes from aqueous solution

Ramazan Coskun et al.

Summary: This study synthesized a new amphoteric resin for efficient removal of both cationic (methylene blue) and anionic (reactive red-120) dyes, displaying high removal affinity and stability. Adsorption behavior followed Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second order kinetic model, with electrostatic interaction playing a dominant role. The resin maintained its high removal efficiency even in concentrated matrix environments, with minimal decrease after repeated cycles.
