Superexponential interactions and the dynamical unfolding of confined degrees of freedom

Peter Schmelcher

Summary: The model system with superexponential interactions exhibits rich dynamics and properties, with a channel region and two asymptotically free dynamic regions. The scattering functions show structures that can be interpreted in terms of momentum-time maps. Comprehensive analysis is performed on the scattering transition for energies below and above the saddle points. Variants and extensions of the superexponential interaction to many-body systems are briefly discussed.

Many-body effects in models with superexponential interactions

Peter Schmelcher

Summary: The scattering dynamics of many-body systems governed by superexponential potentials show a transition from direct backscattering to multiple backscattering and recollision events as scattering energy increases. This transition is analyzed in detail by exploring individual many-body trajectories and large statistical ensembles of trajectories. Recollision trajectories exhibit intermittent oscillatory behavior with varying amplitudes both below and above saddle points.
