Interplay between the Reorientational Dynamics of the B3H8- Anion and the Structure in KB3H8

M. S. Andersson et al.

Summary: The study on the structure and reorientational dynamics of KB3H8 revealed a previously unknown polymorph between the alpha'- and beta-polymorphs, as well as different reorientational motions of the [B3H8](-) anion in the three polymorphs. The results also indicated that the high reorientational mobility of the [B3H8](-) anion contributes to the increased K+ cation conductivity observed, highlighting the importance of anion dynamics in influencing the overall conductivity of the material.

Thermal Conversion of Unsolvated Mg(B3H8)2 to BH4- in the Presence of MgH2

Angelina Gigante et al.

Summary: The addition of activated MgH2 significantly improves the efficiency of Mg(B3H8)(2) conversion to BH4- and reduces B-losses. The system can selectively convert at moderate temperature (200 degrees C) in a short period of time, showing great potential for energy storage applications.

Effects of Glymes on the Distribution of Mg(B10H10) and Mg(B12H12) from the Thermolysis of Mg(BH4)2

Ba L. Tran et al.

Summary: The effects of various glymes on the thermolysis of Mg(BH4)(2) and H-2 release are dependent on their concentrations and identities. Selective formation of Mg(B10H10) was observed with an equivalent of monoglyme and 0.25 equivalent of tetraglyme.
