Surface Complexation Modeling Approach for Aluminum-Substituted Ferrihydrites

Summary: Surface complexation models (SCMs) have been utilized to study the adsorption phenomena of aluminum-doped variant of ferrihydrite. The hypothesis that aluminum primarily replaces iron surface sites within the structure is supported by fitting the zeta potential data adequately. The SCM represents a vital stepping stone towards developing more environmentally relevant SCMs.
