Summary: This study aimed to discuss the current prevalence data of childhood MetS and the ongoing disagreement between different pediatric definitions, highlighting the fact that the increasing number of MetS patients partly depends on the definition used. Furthermore, further research on the long-term consequences of childhood MetS risk factors is needed.
