Evidence for managing chronic low back pain in primary care: a review of recommendations from high-quality clinical practice guidelines

Summary: This study aimed to review recommendations for the management of chronic low back pain in primary care based on recent high-quality clinical practice guidelines. A total of 10 clinical practice guidelines meeting the inclusion criteria were retrieved, with a moderately variable overall quality. The study showed partial progress in the methodological quality of clinical practice guidelines, particularly in the domains of applicability and monitoring and auditing, which are most susceptible to future amendments.
