Development of a novel 7 immune-related genes prognostic model for oral cancer: A study based on TCGA database

Xiao-Tong Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, differentially expressed genes of OSCC patients were acquired and integrated from TCGA database, and a TF-mediated network was established to explore the regulatory mechanisms of prognostic immune-related genes. A 7 immune-related genes prognostic model for OSCC was obtained, and it was found to be significantly negatively correlated with the infiltration abundances of B cells and CD8+ T cells.

Tumor-Infiltrating CD20+ B Lymphocytes: Significance and Prognostic Implications in Oral Cancer Microenvironment

Faustino Julian Suarez-Sanchez et al.

Summary: The study found that infiltrating CD20(+) B lymphocytes in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) are related to other immune subtypes and clinical prognosis, suggesting they may serve as an independent good prognostic factor in OSCC.

LINC00958 promotes the proliferation of TSCC via miR-211-5p/CENPK axis and activating the JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway

Bo Jia et al.

Summary: LINC00958 expression is increased in TSCC tissues, with high expression associated with shorter overall survival. Knockdown of LINC00958 significantly reduces the growth rate of TSCC cells, acting as a ceRNA by competitively sponging miR-211-5p. CENPK, a direct target gene of miR-211-5p, promotes cell proliferation in TSCC.

Identification of hub lncRNAs in head and neck cancer based on weighted gene co-expression network analysis and experiments

Shao Lina

Summary: A lncRNA signature associated with the prognosis of HNSCC was identified, serving as a potential new biomarker and independent prognostic factor for HNSCC. The signature demonstrated strong robustness and stable prediction performance across different cohorts. WGCNA analysis revealed the involvement of modules related to risk score in biological processes.

Long non-coding RNA LINC01137 contributes to oral squamous cell carcinoma development and is negatively regulated by miR-22-3p

Yong Du et al.

Summary: The study reveals that LINC01137 functions as an oncogenic lncRNA in OSCC, promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Furthermore, miR-22-3p directly targets LINC01137 to negatively regulate its expression and function in OSCC cells.

Construction of Prognostic Risk Prediction Model of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma Based on Nine Survival-Associated Metabolic Genes

Zhen-Dong Huang et al.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate independent prognostic factors and construct a prognostic risk prediction model for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). By analyzing nine survival-associated metabolic genes, a significant difference was found between high and low risk groups, with the high-risk group showing a worse prognosis. The risk score was identified as a superior independent prognostic factor compared to other clinical characteristics.

Long Non-Coding RNA LINC01929 Accelerates Progression of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Targeting the miR-137-3p/FOXC1 Axis

Hongze Che et al.

Summary: Newly identified LINC01929 has been shown to promote the progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) by acting as a sponge for miR-137-3p to elevate FOXC1 expression, thereby accelerating OSCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and suppressing apoptosis. This indicates a potential novel target for OSCC therapy.

Identification and Experimental Validation of Immune-Associate lncRNAs for Predicting Prognosis in Cervical Cancer

Jing Ye et al.

Summary: This study identified an immune-related lncRNA signature for the prospective assessment of prognosis in cervical cancer patients. Eight lncRNAs were found to be prognostic signatures for CC, and the immune-related lncRNA signature was correlated with disease progression and worse prognosis. T-cell Chemotaxis assays validated that 2 key lncRNAs could significantly promote the migration ability of T cells to CC cells.
