Bio-Refinery Potential of Enset/Ensete ventricosum/Fiber Bundle Using Non-catalyzed and Alkali Catalyzed Hydrothermal Pretreatment

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the bio-refinery potential of Enset fiber through non-catalyzed and alkali-catalyzed hydrothermal processes. The treatments resulted in efficient separation of the fiber bundle, with alkali-catalyzed treatment showing higher recovery of oligosaccharides. The fibrous nature of the material was preserved, making it suitable for pulping.
