Summary: The impact of doping Cr ion on La0.9Ce0.1Fe1-xCrxO3 nanoferrites synthesized by surface-active ionic liquid (SAIL) aided hydrothermal route was investigated, revealing the appearance of secondary phases, structural distortion, and changes in magnetic properties. The random occupancy of Cr at Fe-site resulted in a decrease in magnetization, while the use of SAILs facilitated directional growth of nanoparticles. This study helps to understand the role of Cr ion in modulating various physico-chemical properties of La0.9Ce0.1FeO3.

Surface Active Ionic Liquids Based Coatings as Subaerial Anti-Biofilms for Stone Built Cultural Heritage

Summary: New surface active ionic liquids (SAILs), with cholinium cations and dodecylbenzenesulfonate anions, have been synthesized and investigated for their potential as antimicrobial agents on cultural heritage stone materials. Preliminary tests showed that some SAILs have both antimicrobial and preventive antibiofilm actions against new colonization. Tests were also conducted on cholinium@halide precursors.

Aqueous micellar solutions of Imidazolium based surface active ionic liquids: Promising solvent systems to boost the electrocatalytic performance of Vitamin B12 toward eco-green electro-detoxification of halocarbons

Summary: The study demonstrates that aqueous micellar solutions can significantly enhance the electrocatalytic efficiency of VB12 for electroreduction reactions. By employing extensive voltammetric investigations, it was found that the enhancement can reach up to several thousand to tens of thousands times. This finding is of great importance for eco-friendly electro-detoxification of water insoluble halocarbons in aqueous phase.

Comparison of the interaction between propranolol hydrochloride (PPL) with anionic surfactant and cationic surface active ionic liquid in micellar phase

Summary: In this study, the interaction between an amphiphilic drug and ionic surfactants in binary mixtures was investigated in the micellar phase using conductometric technique. The results showed attractive interactions between components in both systems, with the NLS/PPL system exhibiting stronger micelle formation capability and synergistic effects. Conductometry measurements indicated higher extent of counterion binding in mixed micelles for the SAIL/PPL system compared to the NLS/PPL system.

The structural transitions of the SAIL aggregates and reduction kinetics of 16-ArN2+ at the interface provided insight into the changes in the interfacial H+ ions, correlating well with the stability of curcumin within the self-assemblies.
