Solubility, Hansen solubility parameter, solvent effect and preferential solvation of benorilate in aqueous mixtures of isopropanol, N,N-dimethylformamide, ethanol and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone

Qiang Gao et al.

Summary: This study focused on the equilibrium solubility of benorilate in aqueous binary mixtures of different cosolvents, analyzing solute-solvent and solvent-solvent interactions. The study utilized various solubility models and found that solubility variation was mainly influenced by solubility parameter and dipolaritypolarizability of the systems, with average relative deviations below 9.62%. In addition, preferential solvation of benorilate by the cosolvents was observed, indicating benorilate's role as a Lewis acid in certain composition regions.

Solid-Liquid Ternary Phase Equilibrium of 3,5-Dibromo-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde+3-Bromo-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde plus N,N-Dimethylformamide/1,4-dioxane/dimethylsulfoxide: Determination and Model Correlation

Huanxin Li et al.

Summary: The experimental study on the solid-liquid ternary phase equilibrium of 3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde/3-bromo-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde/N,N-dimethylformamide/1,4-dioxane/dimethylsulfoxide systems revealed the identification of equilibrated solids with different solvent systems and the appearance of pure solids at specific temperatures. Two activity coefficient models were used to describe the equilibrium, with NRTL model showing good agreement with experimental data. The ternary phase diagrams and mutual solubility data are crucial for the purification of the mixtures.

Uncovering the solid-liquid equilibrium behavior of 6-Chloronicotinic acid in eleven pure solvents by thermodynamic analysis and molecular dynamic simulation

Zhenxiao Guo et al.

Summary: The research investigated the structure and properties of 6-Chloronicotinic acid (6-CNA) in both solid and solution phases, as well as its solid-liquid equilibrium behavior in various solvents. Mathematical equations were applied to describe the relationship between temperature and solubility, with mixing thermodynamic properties showing the process to be spontaneous and endothermic. Factors such as solvent polarity and hydrogen bonding tendencies were analyzed to understand 6-CNA solubility. Molecular dynamic simulations were further employed to study solute-solvent interactions, highlighting their importance in solid-liquid phase equilibrium.
