Comparison of liquid-phase and methanol-swelling crosslinking processes of polyimide dense membrane forCO2/CH4separation

Seong-Joong Kim et al.

Summary: The study compared the effects of two different crosslinking methods on dense Matrimid membranes. The results showed that the liquid-phase crosslinking process allowed for uniform crosslinking across the membrane, exhibiting excellent chemical resistance and avoiding plasticization phenomenon. In contrast, membranes crosslinked using the methanol-swelling crosslinking process exhibited poor plasticization and chemical resistance properties.

Effect of solvent on crosslinking of a polyimide membrane using the liquid-phase crosslinking process for CO2/CH4 separation

Seong-Joong Kim et al.

Summary: The degree of crosslinking and performance of polyimide membranes are significantly influenced by different solvents, with the membranes crosslinked in NMP showing the highest degree of crosslinking and best chemical stability. Conversely, membranes crosslinked in THF and chloroform exhibit poorer performance.
