Stability enhancement of polypyrrole thin film ammonia sensor by camphor sulfonic acid dopant

Amir Amini et al.

Summary: The stability of a 100 nm polypyrrole (PPy) thin film ammonia sensor was improved using camphor sulfonic acid (CSA), which reduced the grain growth rate and enhanced sensitivity and recovery time. Results showed that the stability of PPy/CSA sensor reached 71.5%, twice that of PPy sensor. The improvements are attributed to the lower grain growth rate in PPy/CSA and surface contamination with poisoning molecules.

Dibenzo-18-crown-6/Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers for metal ions adsorption: adsorption studies for Na+ and K+

Ying Shu et al.

Summary: In this study, DB18C6/PAN composite nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning, with good morphology achieved by controlling DB18C6 weight percent and electrospinning parameters. The nanofibers exhibited adsorptive selectivity towards alkali metal ions, with the 15wt%DB18C6/PAN nanofibers showing the highest adsorption capacity. Adsorption kinetics of the 15wt%DB18C6/PAN nanofibers for Na+ and K+ followed the first-order equation, and adsorption isotherms were confirmed to Langmuir adsorption isotherm model.

Preparation of highly conductive polyurethane/polypyrrole composite film for flexible electric heater

Juan Xie et al.

Summary: A PU/PPy composite film electric heater was fabricated through wet process and in situ polymerization, possessing good thermal stability and low electric resistance. The electric heating behavior of the film can be easily adjusted by electrical properties and input voltages, showing excellent stability and recyclability during multiple heating cycles. The composite film with a Py/FeCl3 ratio of 1/2 was capable of efficiently heating a substrate to 110 degrees C at 7V, demonstrating potential application in flexible electric heaters.
