Theoretical study of current-induced domain wall motion in magnetic nanotubes with azimuthal domains

Jerome Hurst et al.

Summary: We study the behavior of magnetic domain walls under an electric current in infinitely long nanotubes with azimuthal magnetization, highlighting the effects of Ersted field and curvature-induced magnetic anisotropy. Depending on the geometry of the tube and the strength of the azimuthal anisotropy, different types of domain walls may arise, leading to two regimes of motion dominated by either spin-transfer torques or the Ersted field. Walker breakdown current is determined in all cases, and optimal parameters for achieving high domain wall speed are highlighted.

Direct imaging of distorted vortex structures and magnetic vortex annihilation processes in ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic disk structures

Sri Sai Phani Kanth Arekapudi et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the magnetic vortex structures in soft-magnetic NiFe and exchange coupled NiFe/IrMn and IrMn/NiFe/IrMn disk structures. It finds that the stability of the intermediate V-AV state is significantly enhanced in exchange coupled structures, with an increase in effective vortex core radius and distortion of FM vortex structure. The displacement of the vortex core in exchange coupled disks depends on the magnitude of exchange bias field and AFM grain characteristics.
