Effect of external electric field on the formation of colloidal Ag-Au alloy nanoparticles through laser post-irradiation

Ehsan Ahmadinejad et al.

Summary: In this study, Ag-Au alloy nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by post-irradiation with nanosecond pulse laser in the presence of an external electric field. The results showed that the electric field significantly reduced the formation time of Ag-Au alloy and decreased the localized surface plasmon resonance wavelength of the alloy nanoparticles.

Plasma and nanoparticle shielding during pulsed laser ablation in liquids cause ablation efficiency decrease

Sarah Dittrich et al.

Summary: Understanding shield cross-effects is crucial for maximal power-specific nanosecond laser ablation in liquids. Comparison of cavitation bubble volumes under different pulse durations reveals that longer pulses lead to increased bubble formation, potentially explaining the efficiency decrease.
