In situ formation of metal organic framework onto gold nanorods/mesoporous silica with functional integration for targeted theranostics

Haibin Guo et al.

Summary: A facile strategy is reported to construct a multifunctional nanocarrier by depositing metal organic framework (MOF) on core-shell gold nanorods-mesoporous silica nanoparticles. The obtained platform efficiently integrates targeted chemo-photothermal combination therapy and tri-modal imaging. The strategy can provide insights for precise and efficient theranostics using MOF with other nanocarriers.

Application of MIL-100(Fe) in drug delivery and biomedicine

Christian Rafael Quijia et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are an interesting class of coordination polymers composed of metal ions/clusters and organic linkers, with high drug loading capacity and synthesis at the nanoscale. MIL-100(Fe) is a representative environmentally friendly and water-stable material in the field, showing potential in biomedical applications. Research focuses on synthesis, stability, and biomedical applications of micro and nano-MIL-100(Fe).
