Anemia and associated factors among adolescent girls and boys at 10-14years in rural western China

Summary: This study found that anemia is present among adolescents in rural western China, with factors such as gender, maternal education level, household wealth, puberty status, and dietary habits being associated with anemia risk. The results indicate the need for interventions targeting these determinants to reduce anemia prevalence in this population.

Anemia as a risk factor for tuberculosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: Through analysis of 17 articles, it was found that the odds of tuberculosis among anemic patients were 3.56 times higher than non-anemic patients. Cohort studies showed that the hazard ratio of tuberculosis was 2.01 times higher among anemic patients. Additionally, the risk of tuberculosis increased with the severity of anemia.
