Diterpenoids and phenolic analogues from the roots of Aralia continentalis

Ji Eun Lee et al.

Summary: Two new compounds, including a nor-pimarane diterpenoid (continentanol) and a phenolic derivative (aralianic acid), along with known compounds, were isolated from the roots of Aralia continentalis. Structural elucidation was achieved through spectroscopic data interpretation, and known compounds were identified by comparing their spectra with reported values.

Diterpenoids and Diacetylenes from the Roots of Aralia cordata with Inhibitory Effects on Nitric Oxide Production

Jun Gu Kim et al.

Summary: Bioactivity-guided isolation of a MeOH extract of Aralia cordata led to the isolation of four new ent-pimarane diterpenoids and a diacetylene, along with 21 known compounds. The structures were determined based on NMR and HRESIMS data, with absolute configurations confirmed through various methods. All compounds displayed inhibitory effects on nitric oxide production in RAW 264.7 macrophages induced by lipopolysaccharide.
