Construction of Superhydrophobic Ru/TiCeOx Catalysts for the Enhanced Water Resistance of o-Dichlorobenzene Catalytic Combustion

Shilin Wu et al.

Summary: A simple method of constructing a superhydrophobic coating using PhTES was proposed to enhance the H2O resistance of Ru/TiCeOx catalysts for o-DCB catalytic combustion. The addition of PhTES resulted in a more hydrophobic surface, leading to improved water resistance and catalytic activity. This method provides a new approach for designing water-resistant composite catalysts for practical applications in catalytic oxidation processes.

Facile homogeneous precipitation method to prepare MnO2 with high performance in catalytic oxidation of ethyl acetate

Tingting Pan et al.

Summary: A facile homogeneous precipitation method driven by synchronous reactions of urea hydrolysis and potassium permanganate reduction was proposed for preparation of α-MnO2 catalysts. Different morphologies of pure α-MnO2 nanostructures were obtained by tuning the precipitation conditions. The physiochemical properties of the catalysts were significantly influenced by the precipitation temperature and time.

Mechanism and Enhancement of the Low-Temperature Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx with NH3 by Bifunctional Catalytic Mixtures

Wenshuo Hu et al.

Summary: The study focused on enhancing the low-temperature performance of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx with NH3 by using a bifunctional catalytic system mixing V-W/Ti with an oxidative component, MnOx/CeO2. The results showed that a synergistic enhancement is significant when V-W/Ti and MnOx/CeO2 are in intimate contact, facilitating a bifunctional LT-SCR pathway mediated by a short-lived, mobile nitrite-precursor intermediate. This mechanism can effectively improve NH3 selectivity in SCR reactions.

Design Aspects of Doped CeO2 for Low-Temperature Catalytic CO Oxidation: Transient Kinetics and DFT Approach

Kyriaki Polychronopoulou et al.

Summary: Eliminating CO through oxidation over highly active and cost-effective catalysts is important for industrial and environmental processes. Doped CeO2 with transition metals was tested for CO oxidation, showing that Cu-Ce-O catalyst has the highest activity. The involvement of lattice oxygen species in the reaction and the effectiveness of different heteroatoms were investigated and quantified.

Interaction Mechanism Study on Simultaneous Removal of 1,2-Dichlorobenzene and NO over MnOx-CeO2/TiO2 Catalysts at Low Temperatures

Qiulin Wang et al.

Summary: The simultaneous control of chlorinated aromatic pollutants and nitrogen oxides during waste incineration is significant. The MnOx-CeO2/TiO2 catalysts showed good performance in reducing 1,2-dichorobenzene and NO, however, their simultaneous removal efficiencies are limited due to competitive effects and irreversible deactivation caused by chlorine atom chlorination of active components.

Ca Doping Effect on the Competition of NH3-SCR and NH3 Oxidation Reactions over Vanadium-Based Catalysts

Yang Zheng et al.

Summary: The poisoning effect of Ca limits the further application of vanadium-based catalysts in high-calcium content flue gas. CaO doping deteriorates the surface acid sites and oxidation/reduction properties of V2O5-WO3/TiO2 (VWT) and V2O5/TiO2 (VT) catalysts, leading to a decrease in NO conversion during NH3-SCR, with NH3 oxidation becoming more competitive at higher temperatures.

Improved Cl2 yield and stability of CeO2-MnOx/Al2O3 catalyst for HCl oxidation to Cl2 at higher reaction temperature

Xin Tian et al.

Summary: The study revealed that increasing the reaction temperature can enhance the activity and stability of CeO2(12)-MnOx(13)/Al2O3 catalyst, by maintaining the adsorption balance of chlorine and oxygen atoms on the catalyst surface, resulting in an increase in space time yield of chlorine gas and catalyst stability.

Shengyong Lu et al.

Summary: This study synthesized a series of nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous carbons (NHPCs) with high specific surface area and pore volume. NHPCs showed high adsorption capacity for toluene and the characteristics improved with fluctuations in raw materials and active agents proportions. The micropore size of the material is the main factor affecting the toluene adsorption capacity.
