Effect of Cr doping in CeO2 nanostructures on photocatalysis and H2O2 assisted methylene blue dye degradation

Ishaq Y. Habib et al.

Summary: This study investigated the optimization of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) by examining the effect of Cr doping on CeO2 nanostructures. The results showed that Cr doping improved catalytic activity in MB degradation, with H2O2-assisted method proving more effective compared to photocatalysis. Additionally, isopropanol demonstrated potential scavenging properties towards hydroxyl radicals, indicating the MB degradation mechanism involves hydroxyl radical species.

Carbon-nitride-based micromotor driven by chromate-hydrogen peroxide redox system: Application for removal of sulfamethaxazole

Manoj P. Rayaroth et al.

Summary: A Fe/C3N4 Janus micromotor driven by a Cr(VI)/H2O2 redox system was developed in this study, with O-2 generated by the redox system playing a crucial role in the movement of the micromotor. Reactive species efficiently degraded the organic pollutant SMX, as confirmed by degradation studies and product analyses. Various parameters such as H2O2 concentration, Cr(VI) concentration, and initial pH were found to affect the movement of the micromotor and the degradation of SMX.

Bio-mass derived functionalized graphene aerogel: a sustainable approach for the removal of multiple organic dyes and their mixtures

Jaidev Kaushik et al.

Summary: The fabrication of a functionalized graphene aerogel from a biomass-derived graphene aerogel is described in this study. The functionalization significantly improves the adsorption capacity, especially for dye removal. Comparative analysis shows that the adsorption capacity of the functionalized graphene aerogel towards different dyes has been greatly enhanced, and it maintains good recyclability.
