Prospective usage of magnesium potassium phosphate cement combined with Bougainvillea alba derived biochar to reduce Pb bioavailability in soil and its uptake by Spinacia oleracea L

Iqbal Naeem et al.

Summary: The study found that using MC alone effectively immobilizes Pb in soil and reduces its distribution in plants, while BR alone stimulates soil enzymatic activities and plant growth but is less effective in immobilizing Pb. A 50:50 ratio mixture of BR and MC showed the most promising outcomes, enhancing Pb-IMMi, soil enzymatic activities, plant growth, and reducing Pb concentrations in plants compared to control. Such a combination presents a cost-effective approach for reducing Pb uptake by plants.

Comprehensive study on co-combustion behavior of pelletized coal-biomass mixtures in a concentrating photothermal reactor

Hanjian Li et al.

Summary: The study found that with the increase of biomass proportion in co-combustion, the devolatilization of char and the action of NH radicals are enhanced, leading to a reduction in NO emissions.

Impacts of oxalic acid-activated phosphate rock and root-induced changes on Pb bioavailability in the rhizosphere and its distribution in mung bean plant

Bilal Rasool et al.

Summary: Increasing OAPR rates led to higher soil pH and available P, while reducing bioavailable Pb concentrations in the rhizosphere. The 4% and 6% OAPR rates were found to improve plant productivity, enhance grain biochemistry, and boost soil alkaline phosphatase activity. Suggestions for reducing grain Pb concentration and oxidative injury in mung bean were given for the 4% OAPR rate.

Numerical investigations on hydrogen-fueled micro-cylindrical combustors with cavity for micro-thermophotovoltaic applications

Wei Zuo et al.

Summary: The study found that the micro-cylindrical combustor with cavity has better thermal performance compared to the one without cavity. By analyzing the effects of cavity length and depth, the optimal cavity size was determined, and it was concluded that the combustor with cavity has better potential for applications in micro-TPV systems.
