Characterization of a natural rubber based solid polymer electrolyte to be used for a magnesium rechargeable cell

Summary: The demand for solid polymer electrolytes has been rising rapidly due to their suitability for various applications, with a current focus on natural polymers for improved safety and cost reduction. This study successfully prepared and characterized a solid polymer electrolyte based on natural rubber and magnesiumtrifluoromethanesulfonate, achieving optimal conductivity and electrochemical stability for magnesium rechargeable cells. The results highlight the value addition of natural raw materials, low cost, and environmental friendliness in this novel research.

Summary: A series of composite gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) based on PVDF-HFP, [EMIM][TFSI], LiTFSI, and rGO-PEG-NH2 were successfully prepared by solution casting method. The 3P5E2LG-10 GPE exhibited good conductivity and lithium ion transport properties at 30 degrees Celsius.
