Solubilization of direct dyes in single and mixed surfactant system: A comparative study

Summary: The interaction of direct dyes was investigated in mixed cationic-nonionic surfactant media using spectroscopic analysis. The results showed that using mixed micellar media for solubilization of direct dyes is more advantageous compared to using single surfactants.

Research has shown that a blend of different surfactants can synergistically enhance the dye partitioning, leading to improved stability and solubility of the dye in water. The processes of surfactant micellization, counterion binding, and dye partitioning have been found to be spontaneous.
